Bible Translation
Over the past 7 years a group of Bosniak scholars in Sarajevo have been translating Old and New Testament books of the Holy Bible into the Bosniak language. James Dannenberg is verifying the translation and has been amazed by the standard and adherence to the text. James meets up regularly with the translation team and has built up a wonderful relationship and is able to answer their many questions as they arise.
The translation of the whole Bible is now 80% complete and the remainder is expected to be finalised within 2 years.
Charity Shop - Give & Take
This shop provides necessary funding for the mission work of Church Growth Croatia and Bosnia. It is situated on the Main Street in Crumlin and it is a treasure trove of good quality household goods and clothes. It is also a meeting place where the local community can catch up on gossip and unburden their hearts to a caring band of volunteers who are prepared to listen. The shop recently won an award organised by a local newspaper for contributions to charity, in which over 500 people voted for Give & Take to win.
Baptist Church in Daruvar
Church Growth Croatia and Bosnia supported Ivan Spicak as an unlicensed pastor in the Baptist Church in Daruvar by undertaking to pay toward his salary for a year. He is now a fully certified pastor and it is anticipated that the mission will support part of his salary for the next two years.
The Trako family
Church Growth Croatia and Bosnia continue to support the Trako family. Redzo is very much involved in facilitating the Bible Translation and the promotion of the mission here in Northern Ireland and in Croatia and Bosnia. Ranka continues to lead the woman’s group and teach Sunday School in the Baptist Church in Daruvar. Tihana has now started art education and Tijana plans to get married this year to Mirko.
The Mission continues to be involved in bridge building projects where recently a specially designed wheelchair was provided for a ten year old girl in central Bosnia. Finances were also provided to reconnect the water supply to a school in central Bosnia which was about to close. In Croatia finances were provided to help a refugee family in dire financial need.
